One board. Five ways to play.

Keep the questions. Change the competition. Play Classic for free, or unlock four fresh twists with Kleveroo+—one shared screen, one host, no player phones.

Teaching with these modes? Explore five classroom review games from one board, with teaching examples and research.

Getting started

  1. 1. Choose a compatible board. Most standard boards work. Boards with their own risk or surprise-tile rules play in Classic only.
  2. 2. Pick a mode. Anyone can view the mode previews and rules on the setup screen.
  3. 3. Name your teams and start. The host runs everything from one screen.

Plus modes include an optional automatic question timer (15–60 seconds) that the host can pause or turn off, plus Undo and sound controls. The host always judges answers — the timer never scores or skips for you.

Classic is free for everyone. Playing the four alternate modes requires Kleveroo+; a Kleveroo Boards subscription alone doesn't include them.

Board mode ·Free· 1–8 teams

Classic

The familiar points-and-categories showdown.

How to play

  • Teams pick a category and point value.
  • The host reads the clue, then reveals the answer.
  • The host awards or takes away points. Highest score wins.

Claim the Grid

Answer correctly. Claim your tile. Connect a winning line.

How to play

  • Teams take turns picking a tile and answering.
  • A correct answer claims the tile in your team's color. A miss leaves it unclaimed.
  • First to connect 4 in a row — across, down or diagonal — wins. Boards that are 8×8 or larger need 5 in a row.

Wager Mode

Build your balance. Take a risk. Steal your way back.

How to play

  • Every team starts with $500 in game points (no real money). On your turn, pick a question you can afford.
  • Right adds the tile value; wrong subtracts it.
  • Before the answer is revealed, one other team can call a steal. It only counts if the original team misses: a right steal earns 2× the tile, a wrong steal loses 1×.
  • Balances can go negative. Teams that can't afford a tile are skipped but can still steal. Highest balance wins.

Tug of War

Every answer shifts the battle.

How to play

  • Teams alternate questions. A right answer pulls the marker your way; a wrong answer pulls it toward your opponent.
  • Harder tiles pull further — 1, 2 or 3 spaces.
  • Drag the marker to your end to win the round. First to 3 rounds wins; if the board runs out first, most rounds won takes it.

Roo Reveal

Answer. Reveal. Solve.

How to play

  • A hidden phrase sits beside the board. Teams take turns answering trivia.
  • A right answer earns the tile's points plus one letter guess. Any team can try to solve on its turn.
  • Solving adds a bonus of 2× the top tile value. Then the team with the most round points wins the round — even if another team solved.
  • Next puzzle resets round points. Most round wins takes the match.
