Kleveroo keeps things simple. We use a small number of first-party cookies and browser storage entries to keep you signed in, remember your settings, and understand which games get played. That's it.
Kleveroo does not currently use advertising cookies, Meta Pixel, Google Analytics, session replay, or cross-site tracking tools. Because everything below is either essential or first-party and non-advertising, we don't show a cookie banner. If we ever add a non-essential tracking vendor, we'll add a consent choice before it loads.
When you sign in, your session token is stored in your browser (local storage, and a cookie in some flows) so you stay signed in between visits and page loads. Without it you would have to log in on every page. These are essential — turning them off means you can't have an account.
Your light/dark appearance choice, sound and music preferences, tutorial "seen" flags, and similar UI settings are stored locally in your browser. They never leave your device unless they're tied to your account.
Some screens keep short-lived state in your browser so you don't lose work or progress — for example an in-progress board draft, a room/nickname you just used, or your place in a solo game. Saved games and boards attached to an account are stored on our servers instead.
We generate a random first-party identifier (an anon_id) and store it in your browser. It lets us count things like "how many people started a game and finished it" without knowing who you are. It is a random value, not linked to your name or email unless you sign in, it is not shared with advertisers, and it is not used to follow you to other websites. Events are recorded on our own infrastructure — no third-party analytics script runs on Kleveroo.
If you buy Kleveroo+ or AI credits, our payment processor Stripe sets its own cookies on the checkout frame or page to process the payment and prevent fraud. We never see or store your card details. Those cookies are governed by Stripe's own privacy and cookie policies.
Kleveroo's fonts are self-hosted on our own domain — your browser does not make requests to Google Fonts or any other font service, and no cookie is set for them. Outside of payments, the main third parties your browser talks to are our hosting and database providers, which are needed to load the site and your data.
You can clear cookies and site data at any time in your browser settings. Clearing them signs you out and resets your local preferences; boards and account data stored on our servers are unaffected. To ask us to delete data held on our side, use Data & account requests.
