AI features help generate and organize board content. They are a shortcut for the blank page, not a replacement for your judgement. This page explains, in plain language, where AI shows up, what you're handing over when you use it, and what we keep.
- AI board generation. You describe a topic (or attach source material) and we generate a full Jeopardy-style board of categories, clues, and answers.
- Lesson plan / file text extraction. If you upload a PDF, Word document, slide deck, text file, or a photo of a worksheet, we extract the text from it and use that text as source material for your board. PDFs with a text layer are read in your browser; other formats and scanned images are read on our servers.
- Board outline suggestions. Before you spend a credit, we can propose a title, subject, grade level, and category list from your uploaded material so you can edit it first.
- Clue ranking and difficulty checks. AI helps order clues by difficulty and flags clues that look mismatched for the stated grade level.
- Metadata suggestions. Suggested titles, descriptions, subjects, grade bands, and tags for boards you create or publish.
- Internal content tooling. Our own team uses AI-assisted drafting for some Kleveroo-published articles and official trivia packs. Those are reviewed by a person before publishing.
AI is always optional. You can build a board completely by hand in the manual board builder, and every board in our library can be played without touching an AI feature.
- Today, Kleveroo uses OpenAI GPT-5 family models for board, category, clue, and answer generation, and Google Gemini family models for uploaded-file text extraction, clue ranking, and metadata suggestions. Your prompt and any text extracted from files you upload are sent to those providers. Requests are routed through Kleveroo's managed AI gateway; AI request routing is currently provided by Lovable. We may change or add model providers as better models become available; when we do, we will update this page and the Privacy Notice.
- Kleveroo does not send your prompts, uploaded files, extracted text, or generated content to Perplexity, Anthropic, advertising networks, or third-party analytics companies.
- Prompts may be retained. Based on how Kleveroo works today, we store the prompt you typed alongside the board it produced, so you can see what created a board and so we can support you and investigate abuse.
- Token and cost metadata may be retained. For each generation we record the model used, input/output token counts, estimated cost, latency, and a timestamp. This is how we understand and price the feature.
- We do not sell your prompts or generated content, and we don't use them for advertising.
- Based on our current provider settings, your app content is not used to train the model providers' models. If that changes, we'll update this page and the Privacy Notice.
Do not submit sensitive student information. That means no student names or contact details, no class rosters, no IEPs or 504 plans, no medical or disciplinary records, and no images (photos, screenshots, scans) containing any of the above. Kleveroo is not designed to receive that data, and uploaded images attached to board clues are stored at public web addresses. Strip identifying details out of a worksheet before you upload it.
AI gets things wrong. Generated clues can contain factual errors, out-of-date information, ambiguous wording, an answer that doesn't match its clue, or a difficulty level that doesn't fit your group. Every generated board is fully editable for exactly this reason.
Read a board before you play it. As the account holder, you are responsible for reviewing generated content before using it with students, colleagues, or any other audience — including checking it for accuracy, age-appropriateness, and fit with your curriculum. Treat a generated board as a first draft from a fast but unreliable assistant.
AI generation is rate-limited per account and metered in credits. We log generation attempts and basic abuse signals so a small number of accounts can't exhaust the feature for everyone. Boards that get reported are reviewed by our team, and content that breaks our terms is removed.
This page describes how the product works today. It is not a certification. Kleveroo has not been formally audited or certified against any AI, security, or privacy standard, and we don't claim otherwise. If that changes, we'll say so with evidence.
